Former Residence of Hu Xueyan (in simplified Chinese 胡雪岩故居) was built in 1872. After hundreds of years, the residence was renewed by 29 million yuan of investment in Hangzhou and on January 20, 2001, it was formally opened.

Hu Xueyan’s former home is located in Hangzhou HeFong Street, Dajing Alley historical and cultural protected areas in eastern. It was built in Tongzhi eleven years (1872), having more than 5.8 thousand square meters building area. The furniture and the use of materials in this former residence could be regarded as the best and most beautiful one in late Qing Dynasty China.

Inside the residence, there is Chi House, parks, pavilions, etc. There is also the artwork of Dong Qichang, Zheng Banqiao, Tang Bohu, Wen Zhengming masters like calligraphy, stone works, there is one of two rare mahogany sights which worth a visit.
